Samsung Galaxy S4 #review with @Telus
I’m usually a one phone kinda gal. I have my fruit, err phone that I thought I was happy with. I have all the accessories, it is compatible with my other devices and I wasn’t looking elsewhere for phone happiness.
I was offered a Samsung Galaxy S4 by the awesome folks at Telus to try out and review. Being as wonderful as they are, Telus offered me a private learning centre at their gorgeous new store to ask all the questions I had about the phone. That made a huge difference! It really allowed me to familiarize myself with the device There is so much this phone does, it is well worth booking an appointment at a Telus learning centre.

I know standard protocol. When I am offered a phone for the purpose of a review I generally have to return it. I have to admit, I am so in love with this phone that parting with it proved to be quite difficult. That is how you know it is a keeper.
CAMERA:
The camera rivals my professional DSLR. The incredible full high definition 1080p camera is the primary reason why I love this phone. The pictures are so crisp that anyone who sees them, doubts they were taken on a cellphone. The dual shot is really great as it lets you snap a photo of what’s in front of you and a photo of yourself at the same time. It’s perfect for if your kids are making the most hilarious faces and you want to capture your reaction at the same time. It allows you to see both. It’s the perfect camera to bring on a vacation.
MULTI-WINDOW:
This feature is awesome, the Samsung Galaxy S4 lets you run two different applications at the same time, on the same screen. It’s perfect if you’re responding to emails when a friend messages you on Facebook, you can view both applications at the same time.
DROPBOX:
What I absolutely love is that I use Dropbox on my computer and when I registered the Samsung, it automatically increased my storage capacity on my Dropbox. The best part about it is that the pictures are automatically uploaded. This eliminates the painstaking task of plugging in a phone to upload pictures and watching the clock tick until all the pictures have transferred.
HANDS-FREE:
I love the handsfree feature. It’s perfect for when you’re at the beach, just slathered sunscreen on your kids and your phone rings. Or when you’re in the kitchen, your family’s famished, your rushing to throw together supper and you get an important call. All you do is waive your hand over the phone to answer.
It boasts a larger than average screen but is still comfortable to hold to your ear. The camera ensures you do not leave home without it, oh and it makes phone calls too. All in all the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a fantastic phone and definitely has the CanadianMomEh two thumbs up!

I don’t have a cell phone at all, but this phone does sound cool! Maybe someday I’ll catch up with modern technology and get myself one… and then I’ll definitely need that visit to the store to learn how to use it!!! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Sounds like an AWESOME phone!
I have the Samgsung S3, but I would LOVE to get my hands on the S4 now!
Thanks for the review Fariha, I’m upgrading to an IPhone or Samsung Galaxy in August and I may have to take a closer look at the Samsung now. How do you find typing emails on it?
Thanks for reading Peggy. It was really easy to type on the Samsung. It has predictive text that is highly intuitive. My husband has the S3 (which he loves) and was amazed at how much more intuitive the S4 is. I highly recommend it. I’m likely looking at it for myself once it’s time to upgrade.
I think going into the store for a tutorial is a great idea, I wish I had done that with my phone at the beginning.
Sounds like a really great piece of technology. I currently own an iPhone and I’m pretty happy with it but this Galaxy looks great too!
I think we should all go into the store and get a private lesson! There is still so much my hubby doesn’t know about his galaxy phone. One thing I know is that if I didn’t already really want one I sure do now! Photos are really important to me so having a phone with an awesome camera would be amazing. Right now I carry 2 devices in order to have good photos and a phone!
All phones (should) make calls seamlessly but it helps a lot when a phone doubles SO WELL as a camera. This is the main reason why I loved this phone so much!
I am a Mom with tweens and a husband who has a dumb phone and I have been hunting for a great gadget for all of my family members. My daughter has my old iphone and my husband well his phone is so bad it’s not even funny. I would have smashed it by now but it still works for calling. So I am always interested in finding out what is new and how it works and I love to read the reviews from bloggers such as yourself. I am totally leaning towards a Samsung for husband because then he could keep up with Facebook and I honestly love the bigger screen. Not ready to get the youngest child a phone yet but the older girl needs a connected device soon. Right now I let her use the itunes and the games on old phone but no calling out yet. She’s a bit dreamy still and absent minded but really really close to needing a full fledged phone. This is a good review. Thanks.
Thanks Paula, good luck on the phone hunt! It’s not easy and always important to do your research; you’ll likely be using it for 2-3 years.
That is the phone my husband has and he loves it. I wouldn’t want to give it back either!
My friends all have this phone…and I must say it is pretty awesome!
I heart my S4 and then some!! She is my baby no.2 (and yes s4 is a girl)..I literally have one eye on my toddler and one eye on this phone at all times haha.
