Car care tips from the #SailunCarClinic PLUS #giveaway from @SailunTires and @PTPA
As chief carpooler, mom taxi, errand runner and household Mom-EO safety is of utmost importance to me. Naturally we research the safety features on our family vehicles but often times we overlook the important fact that there are four rubber tires between the safest of vehicles and the road. After-all, the safety of your vehicle and your most precious cargo, is riding on these tires.
I love to drive, I love to test out some amazing vehicles and get a real feel for the road. One thing I knew very little about until recently, was tire safety and several key basics of vehicle maintenance. Not to propagate female stereotypes but I honestly knew very little about anything under the hood. Thankfully I was invited to an awesome car care and safety clinic for Sailun Tires on behalf of PTPA (the midas seal of parent approved products).
The event took place in Boucherville, Quebec and we were introduced to Sailun Tires. I had heard of Sailun Tires before mostly on social media but was really impressed to learn about many of the things that make them stand out from other tire manufacturers. They initially used to sell exclusively to dealers and then switched over to selling directly to the public. One thing that you’ll definitely want to know is that Sailun Tires are an average of 70% cheaper than other manufacturers while maintaining a high quality standard. They also offer a road hazard warranty which is just one other way to give you piece of mind when it comes to your family’s safety.
Thanks for making our #SailunCarClinic such a great success! @PTPA Great people make for great events! pic.twitter.com/nZZXga1Z5d

The tires are excellent quality and great value but I cherish a brand that gives back to the community because it tells me that they are about more than just the bottom line. Sailun Tires sponsors 150 hockey teams nationwide; mostly in Ontario, Quebec and the maritimes.
- It is really important to rotate your tires. As a general rule, it should be done every 6,000 to 8,000 kilometres. When changing a tire make sure that the locknut is not the first or last one to be changed as it can cause it to break.
- Checking your tire alignment is really important and even if your vehicle is new as it can shift in transport.
- I never realized just how important tire pressure can be. One thing many of us overlook is the tire pressure on our spare tires. Be sure to ask your mechanic to check your spare tire pressure.
- Sailun Ice Blazers are designed to perform in cold temperatures, be pliable in colder temps and be more sticky.
- Air pressure is super important when it comes to both safety and your tire’s life span. Air pressure that is even 5 psi less than recommended can reduce the life span of your tire by 25%. Improper tire pressure can even cause your tire to explode.
- Verifying the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle is easy. It’s located on the driver’s door for easy reference.
- A winter tire is designed to go to -40, an all season tire is not.
- I had a fantastic time learning about Sailun Tires at the PTPA Sailun Car Clinic and now that you know how awesome these tires are, why not enter to win a set of winter tires yourself! (Awesome, I know!)
Now that you know how awesome Sailun Tires are, why not enter to win a pair yourself? That’s right, you can enter to win a set of Sailun Tires! How’s that for awesome.
Disclosure: I am part of the PTPA Brand Ambassador Program with Sailun Tires and I received Compensation as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
My husband is in charge of all the car stuff in our house! Whatever he does, the car always runs, so that works for me.
This sounds like a great giveaway. It’s too bad I don’t live in Canada. =(
It is so important to have good tires to be safe! I did get new ones last year, so hopefully I won’t need them in awhile. Thanks for sharing this!
Tire pressure is worth emphasizing several times. It is so critical that it can’t be overstated. Overinflated or underinflated tires don’t grip the road as well and don’t last as long.
Who wouldnt’ love free tires!? It is like one of the top 5 things I hate paying for, yet is super important!
What a great giveaway. Wish it was available in my area. I’d enter for sure. Thanks for the tire tips. We always have our tires rotated on a regular basis.
I have to remember those tire factlets. I haven’t bought a winter tire since I moved to SC but I always avoid driving when it snows!
These look like some amazing tires. It would be nice to get some of these on the car during the winter!
I am very good at keeping up with my car maintenance. We just bought all new tires for both cars this past winter and I want to keep my trucks running smoothly.
Thanks so much for this lesson in tire safety. You have definitely given me greater awareness.
We don’t drive in our house and don’t own any vehicles but I still love learning about this kind of thing “just in case” So this is really great to know!
When it comes to cars, I am totally clueless. Good thing, I have a husband who have knowledge about it. But thanks for sharing all these things, I really learned a lot today.
I learned a lot today. It’s my husband who takes care of our car, but it’s also great that I know at least a little about tires.
I am your opposite. I don’t like to drive at all. I have my license for 9 years now but I only drove like 5 times lol.

What an awesome giveaway! I wish I lived in a region that I could participate!
I am so glad that my dad taught me how to make sure that my tires are safe. I just had to replace the tires on our SUV. I will be passing this information on to my teen driver.
I know way more about cars than I want to know, but I grew up around people who built cars or races cars. Tires are definitely important. What a lot of people forget to do before they get behind the wheel is… go around the car and check the tires. That is actually basic and I remember when I was in school, they emphasized it. Seems tedious, but it’s actually makes a difference in being stranded or being prepared.
Thanks for reminding me that I likely need a tire rotation!
What is the $ value of 4 Sailun tires that were recently purchased and only 150 kilometres usage?
Irene I would refer you to check with your local Sailun tire retailer for that information please.
Thank you so much for this valuable information for my driving safety. It is very appreciated.
