#BoutiqueMonroe Fashion Show RECAP @lesCoursMR #AheadOfTheCurve
Montreal is the city that never sleeps. With its many festivals, shows and events, there is always something fun and exciting to do. Remember that awesome Raffinalla fashion event we recently attended at Boutique Monroe? We sent one of our contributors to cover the Boutique Monroe fashion show in Les Cours Montréal. Here’s what she had to say:
By Aisha Didar
Boutique Monroe recently held a fundraising fashion show. This ladies’ retail store is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, in Les Cours Mont-Royal…it is a “hidden gem” ! Their spring collection 2016 was on full display, ranging in sizes from 8-18. Catering to curvy, busty and fun loving gals, “love yourself” and “every woman is beautiful” is the vibe you get as soon as you enter the brightly lit store. The sales staff were utterly gracious and helpful. After quickly browsing the shop (which we vowed to return to !) and munching down on mini-cupcakes, we decided to walk up one flight of stairs to the fashion show.
After making our way to our seats (which were perfectly situated), we anxiously awaited for the show to begin. Despite the fact that the show was a tad delayed, we were entertained for a full hour by local talented singers, dancing models and a bright and fun collection of spring apparel. The collection consisted of solid spring colours and dusty pastels, paired with appropriate and functional footwear. The message here was “just feel comfortable in your skin“, it’s not just about how you look but how you feel!
The evening was perfectly emceed by celebrity radio personality, Donna Saker. She sure has a powerful voice and was perfectly suited for the theme of the night -“HOW TO EMPOWER WOMEN“. Not only did Boutique Monroe display their spring collection, they were also fundraising for a good cause-#BecauseIamaGirl, which is a global intiative to end gender inequality, promote girls’s rights and lift millions of girls (and everyone around them) out of poverty.
