The Best Italian food in MontTremblant #CocoPazzo
Every city, town, village, resort has its gems. The places only the locals know of, that make the best food, best desert or best drinks. Sometimes they’re hidden away, off the beaten path, sometimes they’re in plain sight but easily overlooked. As a Mont Tremblant regular since birth, I know much of the village like the back of my hand. Even still, I had not uncovered one gem until only recently. I am so glad to have discovered the best Italian food in Mont Tremblant.
Think of a piece of Italy in your backyard. Coco Pazzo is just that. It’s an exquisite Italian restaurant/boutique nestled in the heart of Mont Tremblant village, tucked away like a pearl in an oyster. It’s easy to miss if you don’t know where it is, which is why I’m telling you to be sure to check it out.
Think fine homemade Italian pastas, olive oil imported from Italy, local meats and produce and chefs that bring it all together like master conductors of the finest orchestra.
We first stumbled across Coco Pazzo on our last visit to Mont Tremblant a few months ago. I had never tasted pasta so fresh. I knew after a single bite that it had to be homemade. The sliced bread brought to our table is accompanied by the fluffiest, freshly whipped butter you can imagine. Think of a cloud of creamy goodness slathered across a warm piece of bread right out of the oven. That is only the start of the meal. What follows next can only be described as a culinary masterpiece; a wonderful symphony of flavours, each element done right.
As I’ve said before, my family loves seafood but it’s not often you find it perfectly cooked. My daughter and I ordered a lobster ravioli, if that wasn’t delectable enough a choice it is bathed in a lobster bisque. The combination is so tantalizing neither words, nor images can do it justice. The subtle lobster flavour resonates musically across your palate clothed in thin sheets of freshly made ravioli. If that wasn’t enough there are fine pieces of caviar to garnish the plate. My favourite part was sopping up every last drop of lobster bisque using the warm, fluffy fresh bread on the table.
My little guy ordered a kid’s cheese pizza. Even that tasted better than most large chain pizzerias. The reason? It’s made with olive oil imported from Italy and Canadian cheese. You can taste the difference in quality.
The Mr. ordered his favourite from our previous visit. A luscious spelt grain linguini with shrimp, baby clams and mussels in an anchovy, garlic and clam broth. It was heavenly (of course I had to ensure quality control). The broth was beautifully seasoned and provided the ideal vessel for more of that freshly baked fluffy bread.
If you have a gluten intolerance and are salivating over these pictures, great news! Coco Pazzo has amazing gluten free options. They can substitue most of their pastas with an organic corn-rice pasta from Italy. More than 60% of their menu is already gluten-free and half of their desserts. Just ask for the gluten-free options when you visit.
It is not often that you can match fine dining with take-out. This is exactly what the owners of Coco Pazzo have successfully done. The boutique and restaurant share a kitchen. The boutique is a great place to grab a sandwich, salad or pasta dish on the go and even better, to take back to your room/hotel and enjoy with your family.
We’ve all been there before. You’re on vacation and want to eat more than mac and cheese and burgers. You long for a mature, adult meal. One that can satiate your taste buds and remind you of that vacation you took before having kids. The only trouble is your kids might be young and going out sounds like too much work. The solution? Coco Pazzo Boutique. You pickup your fine dining on the go, return to your hotel and join the kids for a pajama party, all while eating like refined adults. Everyone wins.
You cannot forget about desert of course! The strawberry cake pictured below is a lavendar infused polenta cake with almond flour, three words…gluten-free yum!
This restaurant has THE best terrace in the entire village. There is live entertainment directly beside the Coco Pazzo terrace four nights a week. You savour your food, enjoy the entertainment and have a great night.

Thanks Julie 🙂 we had an awesome time!
You have maintained your blog very nicely. It is very much appreciable.
Thank you Fariha! We really apprieciate your writing about our hidden gem!
For Jennifer and Erin and any other gluten-free foodies, good news: we have always had gluten free options! We can substitue most of our pastas with an organic corn-rice pasta from Italy, but unfortunately not the lobster ravioli. More tahn 60% of our menu is already G-F and half of our desserts. The strawberry cake you see in Fariha’s beautiful photos is of a lavendar infused polenta cake with almond flour…yum! (I was raised in a G-F house and know that it is always just a matter of choices!) Just ask for our G-F menu and let your waiter know of any special needs. Of course if we can help, we will do our best. Happy eating!
